Farms and producers km 0 that you can visit in Girona province
There is more and more collective awareness that we must opt for local, 0km and ecological commerce. To understand this change in the consumption model and see up close how people live in the countryside, it is best to visit farms and livestock producers that offer workshops and guided tours for all audiences.
We propose a getaway to visit farms and producers in the province of Girona. Without a doubt, an excellent experience to get to know the most inland and rural part of Girona through the senses of taste and smell. Many of them are found in La Garrotxa; others, in the regions of Pla de l'Estany and La Selva.

Mas La Coromina (Vall d’en Bas)
The Mas La Coromina farm is a cow farm, ideal for visiting with the family and to learn how to live and work in the countryside. Located in Joanetes, in the Vall d'en Bas (very close to Olot), it is an ATO Natura farm.
During the guided tour you will discover the milk production process, you will be able to feed the cows, touch a calf or other farm animals (rabbits, pigs...) and even the little ones will be able to get on the tractor. The visit ends with a tasting of dairy products made by hand on the farm and with an educational game where the children will have a great time.
They also offer activities for adults and business teams who want to enjoy a rural and natural experience in which they have to work together. Culinary challenges are proposed where teams must harvest, cook and taste food. A very dynamic activity ideal for teamwork!
La Xiquella (Vall d'en Bas)
La Xiquella is a small cheese factory also located in the municipality of Vall d'en Bas. When you visit you will discover how their exquisite cheeses are made and you can even do a tasting or a pairing with DO Empordà wines and craft beers.
At Mas de la Xiquella you can breathe peace, tranquility and nature. It is an ideal place for palates who appreciate good cheese!
La Fageda (Santa Pau)
Who doesn't know La Fageda yogurts? They are great, right? The Fageda farm is located in La Garrotxa, in the middle of the Fageda d'en Jordà, in the Garrotxa Volcanic Zone Natural Park.
During the visit you will see up close how they take care of their cows and they will also explain how they transform milk into yogurts and desserts, as well as the different production and fermentation processes. It is an entertaining and very educational visit for the whole family. The guided group tour ends with a tasting of its star products: yogurts, ice creams, jams...
If you have children, take a look at the Saturday afternoon visits: the little ones become real farmers! And if you want to combine it with exploring the natural environment of the Fageda d'en Jordà, go on a Sunday.
Ferrer Xocolata (Olot)
A very sweet visit is the one you can make at the Ferrer Xocolata pastry shop and bakery, in the center of Olot. It is one of the most traditional and well-known pastry shops in Olot, where they make authentic jewels made of chocolate. Their Easter cakes are very good and pretty!
At Ferrer Xocolata they open the doors of their workshop so you can visit it and immerse yourself in chocolate to learn all the secrets of pastry and dessert making. You will know their history, how they are inspired and how they work.
